It’s not very often you play a course that absolutely takes your breath away but The Currahee Club is one of those courses. A private residential community course consistently voted in the Top 100 in the U.S.A. is now available to play with great stay and play packages, so we decided to make the trek.
Tucked away amongst mountains and lakes, The Currahee Club is a great escape from the realities of everyday life. Aside from the incredible golf, the pool, lake and the sports complex will entertain the entire family.
The clubhouse is located at the highest point of the property and provides you stunning panoramic views as you relax on the back patio, or enjoy a nice dinner in the restaurant. On top of the dining area, the clubhouse has 4 cozy fireplaces, a billiards room, along with a high end men’s and women’s locker room.
As for the golf, all I can say is WOW! As soon as you pull into the club, you know instantly that you are at a world class facility. The range, practice area and new state of the art training facility are just the start of the Currahee Club experience.
From the moment you step onto the 1st tee box, you are greeted hole after hole with holes that really could be signature holes at virtually every other golf course. Every tee box I got to, I said to myself “this has to be the signature hole”, then the next hole came along and I repeated the same line.
When I stood on the 1st tee for the first time, I took a moment to just take it all in. A par 5 straight down the hill beautifully framed with trees, lakes and skies. With the first tee shot being substantially downhill, I found myself using a cloud as a target line, something I don’t get to do very often!
The Jim Fazio design features stunning views and scenery around the entire course. Measuring over 7,500 yards from the tips, the course does feature 6 different sets of tee boxes for all skill levels to enjoy. For more on this fantastic course, check out our feature on YouTube:
