Here’s What You Need To Know About The Hole in One Challenge at Pebble Beach’s 7th Hole

We are less than 1 week away from arguably one of the biggest golf events of the young 2024 golf season. I am set to take on Pebble Beach’s 7th hole in one of the most anticipated live streams in DWMP history. But how did this come to be?

Just last week, Barstool Sports’ own Jersey Jerry took on the 7th hole Pebble in one of the most viral stories this Winter. after 36 hours and over 2,600 shots on the short 7th, he finally made one on the simulator:

On a simulator that looks like Microsoft Golf 1995, Jerry finally holed out a wedge that went rocketing across the green and into the cup. It was quite a moment that went viral and picked up by nearly every major golf and sports network.

How it came to be for DWMP: Just a few days ago I was challenged by one of our members, Will Sosebee. He had commented that we should take on the challenge. I am always up for a challenge, thought it would be a great idea, and threw in that I think I could do it in 1/10th the swings. Friendly banter turned into a high stakes wager. So the challenge was accepted, a bet was put in place, and we were off and running.

The Bet: After many grueling hours with our attorneys, we have worked out the bet and put it to paper. It’s one of the most iron clad legal documents out there, put together by the law firm of Slaughter & Slaughter. The good thing about using Slaughter & Slaughter, is she takes dick pics as a retainer.

There’s a lot at stake with this challenge, but I think I am up to it. I am not sure of Jersey Jerry’s skill level, but after watching his swing, it’s clearly not that good… And if it takes me more than 2,600 swings to jar one with a wedge, I can guarantee you my clubs will be up for sale the next day.

Since DWMP was shut down for the 3rd time, we decided to keep our admin team in house. The tricky thing about Facebook is if we approve a post that gets flagged, FB issues us an admin flag. After so many admin flags, the will shut a group down. So this is why I don’t have many admins. If the ship goes down, I want to be the one steering it. I don’t want someone else to feel a burden if they caused it by approving something that ultimately got the group banned…. again. So this is a big bet for us. But one I am willing to stand by

This has gained a lot of traction in the group, we have even had some sponsors kick in some awesome prizes during the stream. Nick over at Pins & Aces Golf has kicked in a $500(!) gift card to give away to someone during the stream which is absolutely incredible! (You have to follow them on social to win so be sure to do that before the stream!) We also have a $200 gift card to give away courtesy of Rock Bottom Golf which is fantastic! If you have something golf related to give away, feel free to give us a shout ASAP.

When is it going down: Mark your calendars, we will be going LIVE in the DWMP Facebook group in Sunday, January 21 at 11:00AM EST. We anticipate this event taking roughly 2 hours to complete and it’ll be a great lead in to NFL playoff football. We hope to have this over with sooner than that!

The Equipment: The DWMP Hole In One Challenge will be done on a Bushnell Launch Pro Launch Monitor. Made by Foresight Sports, the same company that makes the GC Quad, the Bushnell Launch Pro is one of the most accurate launch monitor in the industry. As far as software, I will be using either the Foresight Sports application, which is one of the most realistic out there, or the GSPro software which came recommended to me that I will be testing out for realization and accuracy. I have not used GSPro before, but it also came highly recommended. I have been running practice session in DWMP the last couple nights to test out the software, computer and audio equipment to make sure everything is perfect.

Be sure to tune in this coming Sunday, we have some great stuff to give away and I think it’s going to be great content for the group. If you have suggestions for future contests, feel free to drop them in the comments. We want to continue to do more content like this as DWMP continues to grow!
